Encased headlights, a somehow different radiator grill, and a more luscious red in the tail lamps. The slightly redesigned version of the Ibiza is available since May 2006. Women will be grateful...
The range of possible engines (see below) is one of the widest on the market. Besides low cost (but noisy) types with three cylinders for novices, at a price of 12.990 Euro (In Austria) and more, it also offers the most powerful diesel engine (160 PS) in the class of "VW Polo", "Opel Corsa", "Renault Clio" and Co.
While setting great store by further improving the quality of interior materials, which were already high anyway, the Seat engineers unfortunately missed to do so with the noise insulation (three cylinders!), and the antiquated, fiddly system of rear seats and boot. Headrests have to be removed before turning down the rear seats, but even then, the cargo area isn't really flat, and you can't displace the seats. Moreover in the 3-door-version the front seats can't be moved to allow easier access to the second row. All these things might explain the comparably favourable price of the Ibiza.
Apart from that, the car offers the traditional qualities of Seat: A terrific chassis (four different variations) and steering system, a succeeded design, high-quality seats, and enough head-space (even at the back).
Diesel models with integrated emission control are available since summer 2006, the basic models (diesel and petrol) have no ESP at their standard fittings, and disc brakes instead of drum brakes at the rear wheels are only available for models having 100 PS or more.
The standard fitting of the top-selling "Reference" models includes: ABS, 4 airbags, daytime running lights, ISOFIX, remote control, a height-adjustable driver's seat and a pollen filter, but no radio.
