As if the 226 hp of its predecessor wouldn't have been enough, the new and technically revised car of the Renault Clio V6 puts one on the top, making the midget the strongest and fastest series-produced car basing on a compact: The midmounted six-cylinder base engine taken from the Laguna fires the two-seater from 0 to 100 in just 5,8 seconds.
For keeping so much power on the road, the wheelbase had to be extended and the track also grew 6 millimetres in width. In addition to that, the specially constructed 18-inch wheels and astonishing tough working (tested on the race track) racing brakes guarantee the right support. That leaves the turning circle of 13m as the only point for improvement.
The starting price of 45.450 Euro (in Austria) with possible optional equipment (special paint, rims and leather interior) of up to 15.000 Euro and the fact that there is no second row or trunk due to the midmounted engine, will keep the audience rather restricted.
Estimates go to about 30 pieces a year for Austria. First vehicles were delivered in the beginning of May 2003 with a three month delivery period.
