Peugeots 307cc is not really exclusivly girls best friend, but it is quite a lady-killer after all. A full Coupé in summer and winter. And it comes very close to a cabriolet for all year round thanks to the windshield that reaches far back and almost over the drivers head. When the sun shines it starts getting cold only from zero degrees Celsius driving at city limits.
The turning circle could be better (as in the regular Peugeot 307) and when parking the car electronic sensor support would be great to have. Also the standard hifi sound system is too weak for lovers of loud music. But in total a drop-top version could hardly be more compelling.
Driving the Peugeot 307 CC
100 kW/136 hp at 6000 rpm, 190 Nm at 4100 rpm, five-speed manual gearbox, top speed 207 km/h, 0 – 100 km/h in 10,9 sec, consumption (mixed): 8,2 l/100 km; price: 25.300 Euros (in Germany); 18.345 pounds in UK.
Driving Characteristics * * * *
Good handling through tight corners, smooth acceleration, but when driving on bumpy roads as well as when closing the doors the setbacks of the cabriolet trim are obvious even with closed hardtop as the chassis vibrates audibly.
Engine/Powertrain * * * *
The 136 hp engine is a sensible choice and nevertheless still quite sporty in character. Give second thoughts if you really plan to go for the better equipped version with 177 hp as the price tag is another 4000 Euros up.
Comfort * * * *
Great height adjustable sport seats. Good although stuffy seating in the rear. The electric folding roof can be opened in 20 to 25 seconds with nothing more than pressing a button, but the tailgate needs quite a bit of closing effort and in winter you will have to cope with snow sliding into the boot from the rear window and the lid.
Room Capacities/Variability * * *
350 litres of boot capacity with closed folding roof, 204 litres when open. rear seats more suitable for kids than for grownups.
Standard Trim * * * * *
air conditioning, car computer, radio/CD player, sensor controlled wipers, fog lights, power windows, sun screens with illuminated make-up mirrors, remote control for the doors, ISO-fix child seat system, rear lights with LED-technology.
Workmanship * * * *
leather trimmed steering wheel, a lot of aluminium in the interior trim (including gear shift and foot pedals), very good assembly quality.
Safety Features * * * * *
4 airbags for driver and co-driver, pyrotechnical rollover protection bars, anti-lock brakes with EBD, CST and ASR, side protection bars, active backrests.
