The new Nissan Note is difficult to place sizewise. With an overall length of 4.1 metres, this family car is 12 cm shorter than the VW Golf but 18 cm longer than a Polo. Compared to the Fiat Idea and the Mazda 2 belonging to the same compact minivan segment the Nissan Note is clearly longer. Plainly speaking, it is a small but spacious family vehicle with a high roofline just like the more expensive six-seater Fiat Multipla.
A rare feature among this class of cars is that the Note has got an interiour space as generous as a pick-up truckīs without looking like one! Another useful feature is that the back seat is relocatable with one grip to assure a lot of legspace for tall teenagers unless you are transporting a lot of luggage along side. A flaw is definitely the chassis tuning, donīt expect to be seated too comfortably. On top of that the dashboard looks a bit pieced together and the gauges are difficult to read. The gear shifting wonīt go smoothly and the back seat canīt be turned down horizontally. On the plus side, there is a lot of store-room and (cooling) compartments. Another big advantage is the price: the Nissan Note can be purchased starting from 13.790 Euros in Austria which is ideal for price-conscious families.
The popular Accenta-version (from 16.490 euros in Austria) is serially equipped with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, air conditioning, a CD player and a radio. The diesel particulate filter is not serial-production for a purchase in Austria starting from 15.090 euros.
